I would like it so i could take my best pal along with me when i head into town or call to a friends. As with most pet owners, your dog/cat becomes your best and constant companion. Yet every time i get the bus into town or to a friends i must leave her at home. 

I understand why dogs aren't allowed roam free within the bus and totally understand if a pet carrier is a requirement. I mean once your pet is in a carrier it may as well be a suitcase! albeit a cute and lovable suitcase.

Having a blanket ban on pets just seems unnecessary. Cant there be a fine for a dog that does their business etc or simply supply poop bags and disinfectant for any time the pet skillfully manages to poop out the bars of the carrier!! Getting taxis around costs money but i do it so i can bring my animal with me. It seems bus Eireann doesn't not want my money ( I would happily pay a fare for my pet)? What about the holidays when i head home for Christmas? i will have no choice but to get the overpriced and time consuming train when a bus is more direct and cheaper!! Yes, you read correctly pets are allowed on the train but not on the bus!! Dublin bus allow pets at the discretion of the driver, so you may well be left standing there. 

I hope any pet owners out there can take a minute and sign this and maybe they may see that a pet in a carrier is not a big deal.  Mainland Europe manage to allow pets everywhere without society falling apart.
