Like others I'm appalled that Vita Student have not yet come to a conclusion regarding the payment of third term rent. 

Many of us have contacted Vita Student however some have received no reply and some a standard response implying that we are not considering the wellbeing of other students. "Any refunds at this stage would put the ongoing running of the estate at risk and we are committed to keeping sites open and a roof over the head for those who need it." However at the same time they are showing no regard to our wellbeing, at my residence, as they continue to move new people in without any transparency. 

Some students had no choice but to stay following lockdown regulations and would like to return home at the earliest possible  opportunity. Whilst others left early for the Easter holidays and are unable to return due to lockdown. 

Some Vita students would like the option to terminate their contract early. Whilst others are not happy to pay full rent (circa £8000 pa) when they are not receiving all the inclusive services that you would expect for this amount of money. Especially if you are not even able to return for the foreseeable future. 

Vita's inability to listen to the needs of their students at this very difficult time in terms of their wellbeing and their financial security is a major concern. Many students rely on part time work or parental contribution which may be no longer available making paying for inaccessible services moot.

It feels like Vita Student are prioritising profit over student wellbeing. Maybe Vita student need to listen to the needs of their students rather than taking down social media comments and making insignificant posts such as brownie recipes. 

Please listen to us and consider the current needs of students in these unprecedented times.
