I am a student at Virginia Wesleyan University and all of my belongings including my medication supply for three months is being kept on campus in my dorm. It isn’t just me either. Students who lived on campus aren’t allowed to come back to get their things. We were supposed to hear about dates starting after April 6th of when we could come back but now they are saying they won’t be allowing anyone to come get their things due to the new Virginia Order 55 that says we are under a stay at home order. But after reading the order one of the exceptions for leaving your home is to travel to and from educational institutes. I also posted on my Snapchat to see if any of my friends who go to other Virginia colleges were allowed to get their things from their dorms and I found out that my friends from James Madison University, George Mason University, Christopher Newport University, Old Dominion University, Virginia Tech, and more were allowed to go to their campuses to retrieve their things. So the reason for this is so this can get the attention it deserves. We deserve to be allowed to get our things that we own back into our possession.
