The Virginia Tech football team was once a proud and respected force in college football. Led by Frank Beamer and Bud Foster Virginia Tech was a perennial power house built behind special teams and a strong defense. Justin Fuente's style of coaching was a complete 180 from the style that Hokie fans loved to watch under Beamer. Fuente has proven over his 5 year reign he is incaple of winning big games and getting the most out of his players. 2020 has been the most eye opening year, the talent of roster should reflect a 7-1 possibly even an 8-0 record. The Virginia Tech Hokies will have 2 first round draft picks chosen in 2021 and at one point during the season had a legitimate Heisman contender in Khalil Herbert. However mediocrity strikes again under the guidance of Fuente as the team sits at 4-4. Virginia Tech deserves better. I see no other option than to relieve Fuente from his duties as Head coach and bring in someone who will give us the best chance to win week in and week out.
