JUSTICE FOR HARLEY CHANGE LAWS TO PROTECT OUR PETS FROM VICIOUS ANIMALS
The Issue
Our family lost a 17 year companion, emotional support pet, & our baby. He was viscously attacked on the front porch of our home. Ripped from my husband's arms and tore to pieces by a neighbors Pit Bull right in front of him! My husband was also injured trying to save his baby! After emergency vet and spending all night in the ER we are told by authorities in the great state of Virginia a dog is considered personal property & are not subject to immediate seizure & euthanasia. This was the 3rd time this viscous animal has attacked. Second time in 1 week. The owner was "given the CHOICE" of keeping his dog & " quarantining" it for 10 days. Yes, you read that right! An outrage! Adding insult to injury has a whole new meaning to my family. The owner has already showed he CAN NOT keep this dog contained or controlled! We have now learned 2 days later the owner of the Pit Bull was allowed by Virginia law to move this viscous dog to another state (Tennessee)! THIS LAW HAS TO BE CHANGED! DOES IT HAVE TO BE A CHILD? MY GRANDSON, MY NEIGHBOR RIPPED APART & DEAD BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE?? THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP OUR LOVED ONES SAFE IS CHANGING THIS ABSURD & OUTDATED LAW! We need to be able to be safe on our own property! The police officer's hands are tied by the absurdity of this law! Let's CHANGE THIS LAW & LET THEM DO THEIR DUTY...PROTECT & SERVE!
