Have Windsor Police Officers Joe Gutierrez and Daniel Crocker Removed From Active Duty

Have Windsor Police Officers Joe Gutierrez and Daniel Crocker Removed From Active Duty
The Issue
On Dec. 5, 2020, Windsor Police Officers Joe Gutierrez and Daniel Crocker pulled over U.S. Army Second Lieutenant Caron Nazario, who is Black and Latino, while he was dressed in uniform, according to the lawsuit filed April 2.
They pulled him over in a newly purchased Chevrolet Tahoe SUV for not having a rear license plate, according to the lawsuit. Nazario was returning home from his duty station at the time, the lawsuit said.
The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for Eastern Virginia in Norfolk, claims the officers violated Nazario's constitutional rights and seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
Crocker and Gutierrez still work for the department, the town manager told The Virginian-Pilot of Norfolk.
This petition has nothing to do with the defund the police movement. Focus should remain on the mistreatment of US Army Second Lieutenant Caron Nazario.
It is a call for action to the Windsor & Virginia Police Department to remove Officers Joe Gutierrez and Daniel Crocker from active duty until their case and conduct can be reviewed by the appropriate bodies.
The secondary goal is to use this horrifying situation as another example to pressure the Virginia Police Department to implement greater, social education programs for their officers as well an improved method for holding one another accountable in times such as these.
