James McBride started this petition to Virginia House Democratic Caucus

If you want to make sure Democrats avoid more leadership embarrassments in 2020, please contact your delegate and ask them to support a new Democratic Whip for the new House Majority.

As i showed in the Washington Post in May in a letter to the editor entitled, "Democrats shouldn't rubber-stamp incumbents," there is video of the current Democratic Whip Alfonso Lopez describing the serious racial and sexual assault allegations of the Northam/Fairfax scandals a "political hit job" which contradicts his public statements on the matter where he attempted to offer faux outrage to his constituents.

This is part of a well-known pattern among democratic circles of political gamesemanship that includes verbal and physical bullying witnessed by numerous party leaders and activists that I have had conversation with over the past decade, including Bernie Sanders Delegates at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

This kind of self-centered personal behavior, including a neglect of the minority constituencies in the 49th District, offers a hint to why the President of the Arlington Chapter of the NAACP Julius Spain ran against the incumbent in a June Primary.

If Democrats are to succeed in Richmond during a critical presidential year, we can't afford to allow people of questionable character to be managing our agenda under a brighter media spotlight.

Please sign the petition but if you don't want to speak publicly all you need to do is let your delegate know directly it is time for change directly. You can do that by finding them and giving them a call here: https://whosmy.virginiageneralassembly.gov
