This week, I am asking all of you to say a prayer for Kelly each day this week. There is hope in prayer and I know that God hears them all. While this is about Kelly, it is just as much about God. Every time that I have asked Him for aid, He has given it. Every time that the petition has stalled, He has found someone else to move it forward. First He found Denise, Angelina, and Stephanie. Then he enlisted Corbin Prydwen. Next came Angel Langley and I am certain that there are many others who I don't know. While many would doubt that they were moved by the Almighty to act, that does not mean that He didn't. All too often, we get bogged down in the details of living and forget about something greater than ourselves. But I thank God that He has never forgotten about us and most especially Kelly. I also thank God for the people that he sent to give Kelly support. So this is His story as well. Even if you don't believe in God, that's alright. I still ask that you keep Kelly in your thoughts and that you wish her well. Positivism can move mountains too! I have been praying the same prayer for a while now, and I offer that prayer to you should you find yourself in need of one to say for Kelly. Kelly's Prayer O God, take your daughter by the hand and strengthen her, grant her release from her imprisonment and lead her to her purpose. For more than twenty years she has paid for the mistakes of her youth. She was just a girl when she committed the crimes that placed her in prison for the rest of her life. She was a rebelling teen who had lost her way and made mistakes which led to the death of an innocent to which she was an accessory. A death that she has never forgotten, and will never forget. But the person who was responsible for those acts is no more. She has grown up in prison and changed into an adult who sees the world very differently. Where once she was angry and impatient, she is now steadfast and kind. She cares about others and looks out for them, and she tries to help others as best she can. She asks for nothing, but what she has earned. She works constantly to improve herself and her knowledge of the world. She is thoughtful and considerate. She is a good woman who deserves a second chance at life. And so I beseech you Almighty God, to see to the release of this woman and return her to her family. Clear the obstacles from her path home. Move the hearts and minds necessary to achieve her release. I specifically ask you to move the Governor's heart toward mercy, compassion, and forgiveness. Help him to see her as the person that she is and not who she was, and urge him toward granting her the clemency that she has requested. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen May God bless you all and may He always walk with you. Also, if you haven't visited Kelly's Facebook page, I invite you to do so.
