Ask Virgin Media to remove or reduce the £10 late payment fee
Ask Virgin Media to remove or reduce the £10 late payment fee
The Issue
This petition is on behalf of Virgin Media customers who find that the £10 late bill payment charge is unfair and disproportionate. It is understandable that Virgin Media want their customers to pay their bills on time, and the majority by a large margin do just that. Sadly, the majority of the customers who do not pay their bills on time is usually because they can't make the full payment on time.
This charge is applied whenever a customer is late in paying their bill. However, this is made all the more difficult by the fact that, if a customer does not have a direct debit set up on their account, they cannot set one up until they have cleared their balance. For people on very low incomes, it is sometimes very difficult to pay their bill in one go and often, bills have to be paid in more than one instalment, making setting up a direct debit virtually impossible.
For customers who find themselves in this trap, a £10 late payment charge adds to their problems immensely, as Virgin services are expensive anyway, so low income customers, or customers on benefits do not deserve more fees to be added to their worries.
Please sign this petition and let's hope that Virgin Media sit up and pay attention to the fact that their loyal customers need their assistance when they are in financial need.
