After weeks of outreach and attempts to connect to the offices of the Governor and the Attorney General, I am pleased to say that we have finally received a response. But as I went to read the response that was sent in correspondence to my email from the US governors office for the state of Missouri, Governor Mike Parsons office, In which it states as follows:
———————————————————-
Dear Blake:
This letter is in response to your correspondence to Missouri Governor Michael L. Parson. Thank you for taking the time to contact our office.
Upon review, it appears your correspondence pertains to an issue that falls outside the executive branch of state government. The Office of Governor has no jurisdiction over legal processes, nor does it have any control over Missouri's courts, court staff, attorneys, or judges and their decisions.
Since we cannot offer legal advice or become involved in legal matters, you may wish to contact legal counsel to aid you in this matter. If you require assistance obtaining a suitable attorney, please contact the Missouri Bar Lawyer Referral Service at (573) 636-3635 or visit http://mobar.org/
If you cannot afford legal representation, you may wish to contact Legal Services of Missouri, which provides legal help to the low-income and disadvantaged in Missouri. Their website is provided by and supported through the efforts of the four legal aid programs in Missouri. Each legal aid program is a separate and independent non-profit 501c3 corporation that receives its primary funding from the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). The four legal aid programs in Missouri include: Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Legal Aid of Western Missouri, Legal Services of Southern Missouri, and Mid-Missouri Legal Services. More information may be found at: http://www.lsmo.org/
Again, thank you for your correspondence. We hope this information is of help to you.
Sincerely,
Constituent Services
Office of Governor Michael L. Parson

I refuse to stop fighting until we see real accountability and open discussion from our Missouri officials.
I'd like to plan another, more impactful, pushing of support. I was hoping that the signers of thIs petition could participate in Making an extreme effort in reposting the petition and tagging the Governor and Attorney General.
I am beyond exhausted, and tired of being pushed from place to place in government offices. We deserve free and equal opportunity to communicate with our representatives we also deserve equality and all sentencing and issues involved in the only way we’re going to get our point across in my eyes is mass communication with Our decision makers!
In closing, I would like to add that when I picked our decision makers I did research and according to MO.gov this is what it says:
“The Governor’s authority to grant reprieves, commutations and pardons is derived from the Constitution of Missouri, article IV, section 7. The Governor may grant reprieves, commutations and pardons, after conviction, for all offenses except treason and cases of impeachment. The Governor may impose conditions, restrictions and limitations, as deemed proper.”
In conclusion I would like to add the words from our Missouri state constitution which empowers:
ARTICLE VI SECTION 7
Text of Section 7: Reprieves, Commutations and Pardons--Limitations on Power
“The governor shall have power to grant reprieves, commutations and pardons, after conviction, for all offenses except treason and cases of impeachment, upon such conditions and with such restrictions and limitations as he may deem proper, subject to provisions of law as to the manner of applying for pardons. The power to pardon shall not include the power to parole.”
I would like to say thank you for your continued support and progress in this petition! And we can make change in the lives of many inmates who are unjustly sentenced!
PLEASE REACH OUT AND MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD! #WETHEPEOPLE
