The issue

🕵️‍♀️ No Privacy. No Sunlight. No Say.

Villawood residents are standing up against irresponsible development — and we need your voice.

We, the residents of Villawood, are urgently calling on Fairfield City Council and the NSW Planning Panel to reassess Development Approvals DA 303.2022 and DA 384.2021 — for a proposed 8–11 storey apartment complex at Villawood Road, Kimara Avenue, and Kimara Court.

🏗️ Approved in 2021 — before our homes even existed.

⚠️ Never updated to reflect the thriving, high-density community here today.

If built, this development will:

☀️ Block critical sunlight, leaving many homes in near-permanent shadow
🕵️‍♀️ Invade our privacy, with balconies and windows directly overlooking into our apartments
🌳 Destroy one of Villawood’s last open green spaces, increasing heat, congestion, and environmental strain
📉 Breach modern planning standards, including solar access targets requiring 2 hours of direct sunlight between 9am–3pm

We are not opposing development. We are standing for responsible planning that reflects the community that now lives here.

💬 We are asking for:

- A Section 4.55 modification of consent to reassess the DA in light of current conditions
- A formal review of privacy and overshadowing impacts now that surrounding buildings are occupied
- Meaningful community consultation before irreversible construction begins

This is more than a planning issue. It’s about families, mental wellbeing, and the basic human right to sunlight, safety, and dignity at home.

✍️ Sign this petition to protect Villawood’s light, space, privacy  and future — before it’s lost behind towers we never got a say in.
