100% Renewable Energy for Villanova University

100% Renewable Energy for Villanova University
Given the concerning issue of climate change, many universities have achieved 100% renewable energy on campus. Such institutions include, but are not limited to, local college Bryn Mawr and Villanova's competitor, Georgetown University. Since Villanova University has made a commitment to sustainability, it is only right to continue and be an example to other institutions by committing this goal. Currently, Villanova gets 50% of its energy from a hydropower plant, but 50% is not enough if we want to ignite change in our community. Subsequently, we ask the University to shift to 100% renewable energy by 2024. Although lofty, this is a necessary goal to ensure an environmentally sound future.
