The owner of the Garden Room/Anaba Tea Room bought a house on the 3900 block of N. Frederick Ave. She has presented a rezoning request to the Village of Shorewood in order to demolish the house and turn the property into a private parking lot for Garden Room/Anaba Tea Room customers. This, despite the fact that we’ve observed ample availability of parking close to the store throughout the day.

This would be the second home on the 3900 block to be demolished in order to create private parking. Not only will this continue to lower property values and the quality of life of homeowners on the block, it is also establishing a disturbing trend of destroying quality homes in order to create parking lots in our village.

We hope you will oppose this proposed change and safeguard the future of our block and Shorewood's residential zones.
