The Deerfield Park District has proposed to remove the current Green space, sand beach volleyball courts and mature healthy trees to install four pickleball courts at DEERspring Park. This is their top option, but they have 2 more options that will take away green space and the fourth will also have noise impact on the wildlife and the local neighbors. All 4 options at DEERspring will impact noise, drainage and force our wildlife due to the noise and removing mature trees and greenspace. 

We aren’t against Pickleball, just against it so close to taxpayers homes, removing Green space, disturbing wildlife. There are other options in DEERfield to have these courts that won’t negatively impact Green space, mature healthy trees, neighbors living close to the courts (sound and traffic), and our wildlife. 

All four of the Park Districts proposals will negatively impact our quaint neighborhood Park; the noise and traffic to neighbors, removing healthy mature trees, along with removing the homes to a family of three DEER that live south of the pool/park at Deerspring. There’s another 8 Deer that frequent DEERspring Park 4-5+ days each week. 

Please support keeping DEERspring Park as it is, and oppose the Pickleball Courts at DEERspring Park. We need to keep our wildlife including the DEER in their current homes. There are other options in our Village. 

The approximate cost of this project is around $125,000.
