Sad new yesterday that the Viking Bay lift WILL NOT be opening on 21st June as originally announced by TDC at a meeting on June 4th that I attended. It is now hopefully ! to open in July for the summer season ONLY. It appears more repairs are required with parts having to be made before health and safety can allow them to open. Sadly this was not mentioned at the meeting and it was stated June 21st was the date for opening. Strange how it is the same as the Covid date of 21/06 . Makes you wonder.  

Therefore I will be contacting Councillor Bob Bayford ( if you wish to contact him yourself re this issue his email is cllr-robert.bayford@thanet.gov.uk ) who is the designated SPOC for the ongoing repairs. It would show the level of disappointment re this announcement if you emailed him.

Apparently the lifts were under review since April this year. Sadly Ramsgate has some serious issues so may be a longer problem which TDC are accessing.

I will continue with my petition for the lifts to be opened not only for the summer season but all year so access is available. It may be the case they have to become designated disabled lifts. Thank you again for your support.
