El día de la Sentencia de Nina Droz Franco, 12 de junio de 2018, Nina dijo a su madre, Aurea Franco Díaz: “First of all, I would like to ask permission from this Court to address my family. First of all, I would like to thank my family for staying firm by my side and helping me throughout this struggle. And I would like to say to my mom that nothing[1] makes me suffer more than to know that tears have not stopped dropping down her beautiful face, and that this will continue to happen until the day that she can have me back with her. Mom, I wish I could calm the suffering that you are having because of me. You have no idea how much I would give, and if I had to give my life 20 times over, and be tortured 20 times over, to stop your suffering, that I would do. I want you to know that I love you, and I know that my most devoted warrior, who has been by my side, has been you. I apologize to you, and I ask forgiveness from you for being the cause of that suffering”.
