We need your help!
So far, we have had over 200+ community-minded souls volunteer their time and energy to help spread the 'Save Parkdale - SAY NO TO SKYRAIL' message.
Let me repeat that. More than 200 volunteers!
Our team of data analysts (mums and dads just like us!) have divided our entire electorate into small segments and we need as many volunteers as possible. Many hands make light work.
What will our PARKIARMY do?
The most important task for the moment is communication. We need volunteers to go door-to-door and deliver our message.
Our message is clear and simple. We do not want sky rail, we want to go underground and we want community consultation to facilitate the best solution.
We need every person in our electorate to have signed, in person, a petition for both the upper and lower houses of Parliament - and to be left with a Save Parkdale flyer in their hand that details how they can help further with our cause.
There is now a section on our saveparkdale.com website entitled PARKIARMY where you can register your details and commitment to help.
As part of this, we are asking for a range of other ways you can help, as well as suggestions.
We need people who can or have access to printers, sign making, t-shirt making, copyrighting, data mining, traffic counters, fact-checkers and a range of other skills.
If you have ANYTHING to offer, please let us know. We live in an amazing part of the world with a massive array of skills and expertise. Let's work together and scream no to sky rail!
It may sometimes feel like you have no power or that things are helpless - but never give up.
Every single person has power and strength within - and it's this determination that will see us through.
Don't ever doubt yourself.
I believe in the power of community and I love where I live.
Let's believe together.
Dave.
