Due to the inhumane treatment of greyhounds in the racing industry, we believe that all greyhound races should be abolished. Greyhounds endure cruelty in the racing industry, as there have been numerous accounts of deaths of healthy greyhounds, due to the fact that they have not won a race. Furthermore, annually 20,000 greyhounds are bred just to participate in these harsh competitons, and ultimately can be put down or have serious injuries in this "sport", and is deemed unacceptable in our view. This issue must be addressed by the Victorian Parliament, to put an end to this cruel and unacceptable sport. Greyhounds deserve to live healthy, happy lives in a loving family, and by participating in these races, is depriving them of this happiness and healthiness they ultimately deserve!
