I got a phone call late yesterday afternoon from Jensen’s surgeon at the Sydney Children’s Hospital to say that Jensen’s surgery is back on!!!!! He is having his palate surgery on Feb 4th which was our original date. Our surgeon has said that all the surgeons at sydney children’s hospital have been fighting for surgeries to go ahead again since they were cancelled but that it was the Channel 9 News Story and this petition that brought things to light and pushed things over the line! 
Sydney Children’s Hospital are now looking at recommencing surgeries on a case by case basis.

My only hope now is that ALL the cleft parents in NSW are able to get the same phone call that I did, regardless of their child’s age/stage of development/level of urgency. I hope all these surgeries are being scheduled so that parents are no longer in limbo and worrying that they have been left behind! I hope this change will start to occur across all hospitals not just the Sydney Children’s Hospital!

I am in absolute disbelief that we have gained over 10,000 signatures. I am beyond grateful and I know that every cleft parent in NSW is too. The support, the love, the well wishes and the kind comments on this petition has been overwhelming! I thank each and every one of you for caring so much about these babies and helping, we could not have gotten this far without you all and it means more than you can ever know! Thank you!!
