There’s nowhere more unsafe for people experiencing homelessness than the street.

Thank you for signing the petition and for your wonderful support. Almost 2000 people have signed so far. Follow us on facebook to keep right up to date.

Here's some of the many great comments left with the petition:

I’m signing because as a Social Worker I have seen how much this program has helped people in our community. There are few options if you are homeless in the Shire of Yarra Ranges. This program has saved lives. Everyone needs a safe and warm place to sleep. Stable One also offers other support to help people get on their feet again.

The church has always had the mandate to help others and as a result is able to support local government in different areas. More than this, churches freely sheltering the homeless is about the one- being able to serve ‘the one’, positively impacting someone’s mental health, listening, helping to provide a safe warm space, reminding human beings that they are not alone, offering hope, connecting humanity. Let the churches continue in their mandate for the countless ‘ones’ that they reach.

People matter more than the pieces of paper needed. I understand the need for policy but when that takes precedence over the needs of the most vulnerable & needy in society it is WRONG POLICY.

Let's keep the pressure on until we get a hearing with either the Minister or the VBA. Write or call these people:
