Huge thank you to everyone who has signed.
We are on our way now to 500 signatures which for our little club is more than the amount of members we have!
In addition to expressing public interest in this case we’re hoping to take this petition in the direction of achieving change. We’re looking to have a change in the way ‘White collar crime’ is investigated currently. A designated department is required for financial crime/fraud rather than the crime just being designed to a police officer who has other duties he needs to carry out. This will enable the crime to have the attention it deserves.
We also want change in how long investigations are taking for this type of crime. We need change or a law that state investigation is carried out in a reasonable amount of time. Hopefully looking at around two years. This is so when the case does reach decision makers the length of the investigation cannot be the reason for lack of success in court. Or their opinion in a lack of prosecution in court. This also enables affective evidence gathering during investigation.
White collar crime isn’t a victimless crime even though it’s a non violent crime. Our club in Mirfield almost closed due to the actions of someone placed in a position of trust. Because the investigation hasn’t been given the attention it deserves or been conducted in a reasonable amount time we’re looking now to bring about change for other victims going forward.
Be part of this change!
Thank you.
