For those who do not know, 'Pop up Video' was a show that aired on Vh1 that featured popular music videos of various genres with added bubbles that gave additional info on the video itself (from technical production details to funny background stories) to said artist (from basic bio facts to salacious details) peppered with trivia facts that correlated with imagery in the video. When it first premiered, its tagline was "the show for people who hate music videos", but it was a very creative medium that allowed the viewer to see the video in a completely different way. This was pretty groundbreaking when the show first aired in 1996 and ran until 2002, with its peak years allowing Vh1 to become a bona fide music channel in its own right alongside sister channel MTV. The show was rebooted in 2011 and lasted about another year.

Now that it has been almost a decade since the airing of the reboot, the nostalgia would be a welcome addition to the other classic shows that are currently on streaming platforms.

Lastly, with everything going on in the world, the inanity and nostalgia of the show may allow new audiences and long time fans a temporary escape from the overwhelming emotions they may be experiencing about an uncertain future. While I am not professing that the show is the ultimate antidote to one's problems, it certainly provides many a great deal of joy since it involves possibly one of their utmost loves...MUSIC!
