On 3/1/23 the Utah legislature passed HB 469. Section 23-19-17 of this bill allows open hunting of cougars in the state of Utah by ANYONE with a hunting license at any time ALL YEAR. This could be catastrophic to one of the only remaining apex predators in the state. Apex predators are critical to healthy ecosystems, not trophies to be killed at will.
