Well, a few days ago, the legislative regular session was extended again. It now ends June 18th. Let's keep signatures coming and continue pressure on the governor to end this bill when it goes to him. It is still just 'enrolled' (approved to go to him, but not packaged and sent) from April 30th.
A fellow supporter of this cause recently shared a post showing an example of developer use of eminent domain. There are so many possibilities that we don't want to see happen. But, here is the link to a news story about just one example of a family farm having to give in to developer use of eminent domain (link). If given the authority, and the developer utilizes eminent domain, the only recourse is appealing through the courts. But, this family farm fought and lost.
We are nearing 3,100 signatures, which is really great...but always need more! ;) The more we get, the harder it may be for this bill to go through. So, keep recruiting Florida eligible voters to sign. And, let people know that if/when the site asks for donations, it is for the site/advertising and does not go to directly fundraising for the cause.
Thank you for all of your efforts so far. Keep it going!
