A FAIR DEAL FOR PETS WITH LONG TERM MEDICATION NEEDS
The Issue
VMD say 28 days is good practice for schedule 3 medicines prescription unless the pet has long term medication requirement like epilepsy which my dog has had for 3 years and the rest of his life.
VMD do not allow repeat prescriptions but the vets can allow up to six months of medicine be ordered in one go. My vet will only allow one months supply for £44.10 at a time online the cost is £16.80 + pp total £22.79 plus VETS prescription charge of £14 total £36.79.
The costs could be reduced by either repeat prescriptions or the Vet prescribing more.My dog is taking Epiphen Tablets (Phenobarbitone 60mg and 30mg twice a day.
If anyone has any idea of a safe way to look after my dog at a lower cost as £44.10 out of a state pension would help alot.
