Veterinarians: Please Affirm the Updated Veterinarian's Oath

This petition had 127 supporters

The American Veterinary Medical Association revised the Veterinarian's Oath in November 2010. New language was added, making animal welfare and the prevention of animal suffering as vows each veterinarian promises to uphold.

However, the updated Oath will be taken only by veterinarians graduating after its adoption.

If you are a veterinarian who took a previous Oath, please sign this petition to affirm that you will abide by all the provisions of the new Veterinarian's Oath.

***IF YOU ARE NOT A VETERINARIAN, DO NOT SIGN THIS PETITION!*** SIGNATURES FROM NON-VETERINARIANS WILL INVALIDATE THIS PETITION and hurt the cause of animal welfare. Thank you!

I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.
