My rescue dog Molly was put on Apoquel for her severe skin allergy, this was the only medicine that helped heal her, the only problem was that having been on that medication for 2+ years along with other medications and her PTSD from being abused and abandoned by her previous owners.. her mental health deteriorated at a rapid rate. She was on 2 Apoquel pills a day which if I even gave her a half pill less or the tiniest piece, it would not work properly and her skin reactions would come back. This pill helped her skin immensely but at the same time destroyed her mental state. She began to give these looks, like she was lost/skiddish, she was losing her senses and there was nothing I can do the effects of the long term treatment of Apoquel in turn made my beautiful baby mentally ill, internally damaged as it healed her on the outside(skin/fur). I am devastated to say she had to be put down due to psychological damage the medicine caused. I pray that she is in peace and knows I would never have put her on that medicine if I would have been warned of the long term risks. i would have given to her short term and found other ways.

I am suffering without her joy in my life and I cant see myself being as happy or loved as I was ever again bc she is gone.
