Save the animals
The Issue
Endangered animals such as, Sharks
The animal considered violent and evil
143 species of sharks are endangered
The International Union for the Conservation of Nature lists 143 species of shark as “endangered” or “critically endangered” “near threatened” or “vulnerable” on its “Red List,” and 210 more are listed as “data deficient.” Less than a quarter of the known shark species in 2011 were classed as “least concern,”
But the hard truth is, yea, they are endangered and being eaten as soup in certain places RIGHT NOW. I think this needs to stop because sharks might eat humans sometimes but its the circle of life, come to think of it we eat chickens and snails and pork and other animals, I'm not saying you need to become vegetarian and not eat any animals, I'm saying we need to try and save endangered animals, such as sharks, Fin Whales, Hawksbill Turtles, Sumatran Elephants, and many more.
Like all other large whales, the fin whale was heavily hunted during the 20th century. As a result, it is an endangered species. Over 725,000 fin whales were reportedly taken from the Southern Hemisphere between 1905 and 1976; as of 1997 only 38,000 survived. Recovery of the overall population size of southern subspecies is predicted to be at less than 50% of its pre-whaling state by 2100 due to heavier impacts of whaling and slower recovery rates.
The World Conservation Union, primarily as a result of human fishing practices, classifies E. imbricata as critically endangered. Hawksbill shells were the primary source of tortoiseshell material used for decorative purposes.
The Sumatran elephant is one of three recognized subspecies of the Asian elephant, and native to the Indonesian island of Sumatra. In 2011, IUCN upgraded the conservation status of the Sumatran elephant from endangered to critically endangered in its Red List as the population had declined by at least 80% during the past three generations, estimated to be about 75 years. The subspecies is preeminently threatened by habitat loss, degradation and fragmentation, and poaching; over 69% of potential elephant habitat has been lost within the last 25 years. Much of the remaining forest cover is in blocks smaller than 250 km, which are too small to contain viable elephant populations.
Some of the ways you could help are, sharing this petition, making more petitions like this one, not eat shark fin soup or really try not to eat any endangered animals because the more that are eaten the more that are killed, and those are just some of the ways, do your research to find other ways to help these animals. And when you go to the zoo/aquarium and you feel like the habitat is uncomfortable to the animal, ask about it. Also I know it might seem silly but once me and my friend marched around a roblox (a game) saying that animals need to be treated more fairly when they are endangered to get more people to help save these creatures.
Thanks for reading :)
