Our Veterans served our Country, Why should they have to fight to get their Benefits get a handle on benefit claims and Pensions

The Issue

My father in law is a 70 year old veteran whom was declared incompetent by the VA for financial purposes in June of 2013. Because of this the Assisted Living Facility his was living in at the time was appointed his fiduciary of his monthly Aide and Attendance Benefit check. My father in law filed an appeal in September 2013 and his appeal has never been responded to. Since than my husband and I moved him into a different facility where he is in much safer and more stable atmosphere and my father in law and husband filed all necessary paperwork through the VFW to have my husband be appointed his fiduciary. The old facility my father in law lived in is still collecting the benefits 3 months later and has ignored all requests to forward the benefits to his new place to pay for his care. My husand and I contacted our State Senator who is helping us and made some calls to all fiduciary hubs in the area. The director of his old facility had the nerve to contact my husband and say stop bothering me the minute your Dad moved out I resigned as his fiduciary. This director however is still collecting my father in laws Aide and Attendance Benefit. This has to be changed someone needs to step in, not just for my father in law but for every other veteran that has served our Country. So many of them don't have people to fight for them like my husband and I have for my father in law. Obviously the VA takes their sweet time with appeals and in the mean time everyone wonders why there is so many homeless Veterans.
