We just recently moved to Tottenham, Ontario in the new sub division of Deer Springs and already we are feeling frustrated with the extremely loud train noise especially at night time when the majority of residents are sleeping and would need a good quality sleep to perform their best the following day and for obvious health reasons also.

Just like the town decided to put train barrier with signal lights on 10th Line they should be doing the exact same thing on 3rd, 4th and 5th Line crossings. Having this in place not only will eliminate the train noise but will also make our roads safer and having them in place especially because it's usually in dark more dim locations.

CP Rail and or The Town needs to be doing something about this because this town is no longer a 5,000 resident town. The population in Tottenham is now close to 10,000 according to a 2021 census. With a growing town the rail should have some consideration for those nearby the rail. 

Many towns in Ontario have implemented quiet zones/cessation as communities grow, such as Woodbridge, Kleinburg, Vaughan, Bolton and Markham.

I hope this will grab the attention of the Town Office of New Tecumseth to hopefully put this in place for the convenience and peace of mind of the local residents in the area.
