Good morning all,
I am excited to see that we are soon to surpass 25,000 signatures so let's shoot for 40,000 by the end of the day! Today there is a meeting with the Vermont State Colleges Student Association to meet with the student trustee about this issue and go give an alternative proposal to hopefully change the fate of our schools! We must continue to push the legislator, governor, and board of trustees to make a decision that benefits ALL Vermonters and not just a select few! Press the Board of Trustees to delay the vote so that more information can be researched and released about alternative plans! Press the legislator and governor to give the state college system $8.5 million in disaster relief funds to cover the deficit and protect higher education in Vermont! We need to protect these schools and the economy of the Northern and Eastern tiers of Vermont.
In other news, we have gotten the support of Burke Mountain and many other businesses around the state! They have been working hard to talk to legislators and other officials about how important our schools are. Keep mobilizing and spreading the word about our cause. I have again added the contacts of the board of trustees so that you can voice your concerns, questions, and comments to them! Right now our biggest push is to delay this vote so we have more time for other proposals to come through. Remember that we are all in this together and we got this!
