As described in this article on Seven Days, "Burlington City Council to Consider Asking Scott to Suspend F-35 Flights," Councilor Perri Freeman submitted a resolution for a vote by the council at its online meeting on Monday evening, April 13. You can see the resolution at the end of the Seven Days article at: https://www.sevendaysvt.com/OffMessage/archives/2020/04/10/burlington-city-council-to-consider-asking-scott-to-suspend-f-35-flightsF-35
1. If you live in Burlington please call or email your city councilors and urge a "yes" vote on the resolution "calling on the governor to halt F-35 practice flights and mobilize the full Vermont Guard to stop the spread of the coronavirus." Tell them that you want the Governor to order the Guard to focus entirely on fighting to stop the spread of the lethal coronavirus.
2. Sign up to speak in favor of the resolution at the online public forum. You can speak by phone or Zoom. Sign up in advance of the online city council meeting. Send an email to the city clerk, Lorrie Olberg Burlington city clerk <lolberg@burlingtonvt.gov> or to the new President of the City Council, Max Tracy <mtracy@burlingtonvt.gov> with your name and phone number to sign up before the meeting starts. Instructions are not yet available as to how to sign up but should be sometime Monday. Public forum starts at 7:30.
3. So far 976 people signed on to the petition! That is a huge response. But it can still grow. Please circulate the link to the petition and to the Seven Days article to your friends and lists. Here is the tiny url link to the petition: http://chng.it/SHpzPkPc
Thank you very much.
