The Issue
I’m starting this petition because we need real change at Verizon. I’m currently apart of a class action suit filed by someone else on Wages and Commissions in Retail. I was served this in October 2018. Recently Verizon has gotten out of hand with the mistreatment. I’ve been discriminated against due to the following reasons , Age, Race, and Gender. Verizon consistently has Payroll & Wages issues. Due to the fact on very vocal on the concerns in the business. Verizon has started Bullying & Retaliation against me. It’s no Equality & Fairness in my department. We need Diversity & Inclusions desperately. Verizon is in Violations of Hippa, Most Importantly sharing ones Disabilities. In the last 3 years Verizon has change tremendously. It started out with small changes like time an attendance. Then it was inconsistent payroll issues. Then it was the change of our CEO things has never been the same since.
The current CEO chose to switch our Vendor who we call to take a leave of absence or anything medically. Our current vendor is Sedgewick, an it’s a nightmare. Within these 3 years I’ve been in Irving working. Verizon claims to have an open door policy. The more vocal I am with my concerns within the business. The differential and mistreatment within the organization. The racial comments and accusations. This year I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and Fibromyalgia 2/21/19. Instead of my company having compassion and empathy for me. Verizon has been determined to get me out the business by an means necessary. Falsifying documents on me. Manipulating my time and attendance. Making Sedgewick delay my claim with the hopes my doctor would say something different. On July 9th I return to work on a partial disability. Me and my group of doctors wanted to see my limitations. I successfully made my first week but it came with a lot of bullying and retaliation. On that 1st day back, I was called down to a room where it was two white guys. They said the were security. I had know clue to why they needed to speak with me. I was told I was being investigated for my social media pages. Within this same day I had no access to my systems to be able to catchup on work. The next day which was July 11th. I still could get into my systems. I went to the cafeteria me and a peer and we both was accused of stealing guacamole. The lady chased us made a big scene when in fact no one stole anything due to the fact I was the only one getting lunch. Remind you I’m in my scooter so I can’t reach nor get to anything without someone assisting me. Me and that peer was label angry black women. We were humiliated amongst 100’s. This sent me into an anxiety attack so they sent me home. The very next day which is the 3rd day I’m working my partial disability. My senior manager by the name of Mike Alexander pick and bully with me stating if I need all these accommodations to work, I might as well not work. I was very offended so I called compliance. This would make my 4th compliance report this year. So I returned the second week on my partial disability which is now July 16th. With still no system access to my tools. Instead of continuously asking for help that I wasn’t receiving. I just sat at my desk. The stress of what they was doing to me and how they was treating me, sent my body into a flare-up. So I wasn’t able to work Wednesday July 17th. So I call my manager to alert her. I also call Sedgewick to see did it matter what 3 days I work. I was told by Sedgewick long as I work 3 days a week in the business I was fine. The rep further tells me that Verizon has restrictions on my profile. So I returned Thursday on the 18th to work. I was called in a office by my immediate supervisor Keenyasha White . She said I was being wrote up for missing that Wednesday. So I proceeded to explain to her the kind of Lupus I have, I can’t control it. So I call my doctor an explain to her what’s happening not only did she write a letter numerous times it just a short time. So when I tried to make up the day I missed. I was wrote up again and sent home. So my doctor took me back out on full short term. So Verizon trying to retaliate against me again. Held my claim in limbo for 3 weeks going without pay and being bully by emails and certified letters. If it wasn’t for my doctor calling me back in to see me and she ask me to get Verizon and Sedgewick on the phone, I would be fired as of yesterday. So my doctor had the hospital social worker call me and advise me to get an attorney because she didn’t like how they were treating me. She also said with the mistreating I will never get better with my Lupus. Anything else you need for as my claims info I have it. I also have a recording where Human Resources admittedly say that mistakes were made in regards to me. I have wittiness to my mistreatment. Also video of a leader playing in my scooter while I was out on leave. I have a paper trail going back 3 years.
