VUSD is planning on opening campuses for limited use in a hybrid on campus/distance learning curriculum. This will put our teachers, children, and their families at a much higher risk of infection and we still have a local surge across the county and a large surge in hospitalizations and infections in the city of Ventura. We don't know enough about this virus to open schools safely and the state and school district don't have the budget to ensure schools stay clean and safe.

Please help keep our teachers, children, and families safe. VUSD thinks the majority of parents want schools to open, but our teachers don't think we're ready.

Our children will recover from the lack of social contact and any academic issues from distance learning. They will not recover from losing a loved one, a teacher, or even their own life.

Let's tell the district that public health needs to be their first priority.
