Stop inappropriate development in Hampton

Stop inappropriate development in Hampton
The issue
This petition is in opposition to the proposed seven storey development at 427-461 Hampton Street on the following grounds:
- It completely ignores Bayside Council’s planning guidelines, being almost twice as high as the stipulated four-storey preferred height.
- The proposed look, mass and density of the buildings will destroy the character of Hampton Village.
- The proposed development has applied for an official reduction in required number of onsite carparks, which if granted will create significant ongoing parking, traffic and safety issues affecting Hampton Street, Holyrood Street, nearby side streets, and two primary schools.
In joining this petition, I ask the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal ( VCAT) to support the Bayside City Council and its Planning Guidelines and reject this application.
About the Hampton Neighbourhood Association
