DO NOT let the demolition of 2 heritage houses in middle park go ahead by Naomi Milgrom!
The issue
Naomi Milgrom purchased the 124 year old Danish club on beaconsfield Parade to become her house. She then went on to purchase 2 neighbouring heritage properties to her home with the intention of demoltion to create a bigger backyard for herself.
These 2 properties are beautiful hertiage buildings and should not be teared down just because someone with millions wants a bigger backyard. There is not much heritage left in this city that was once full of elegant buildings so we need to take a stand and keep the beauty that already surrounds us. Don't let her tear them down to build 4 metre high ugly fences.
I started this petition because there is too much of our history being torn down just for the delight of 1 person. I like to stand up for what I believe in and the city of Melbourne is much more glorious when 100+ year olf buildings still exist. It gives us a sense of character without becoming the boring (and cheap) modernist todays current arcitechts are forcing us to become with their continual building of ugly boxes on top of boxes style strategy.
Take a stand with me and sign your name if you don't want to see these beautiful Edwardian buildings torn down to make way for 4 meter high ugly fences, greenhouse, garden and pergola all just to satify one woman, her deep pockets and desire to have the largest private landholdings in the city.
Heritage beauty belongs to the people of Melbourne, not just one person with deep pockets who wants to destroy it.
