Various job opportunities and career paths that are available on TVL students

The Issue

PROBLEMS:

  • TVL (Technical-Vocational-Livelihood) students have a wide range of job opportunities and career paths available to them after completing their education .They may face several challenges when it comes to job opportunities and career paths, including
  • Limited resources: Some TVL schools may have limited resources, which could affect the quality of education and training provided to students. Thiscould also limit their career prospects.

  • Lack of skills training: In some cases, TVL courses may not provide sufficient skills training, which can make it difficult for graduates to compete in the job market. Employers may also be hesitant to hire TVL graduates if they feel they lack the necessary skill
  • Limited job options: TVL students may have fewer job opportunities compared to their academic counterparts. Some employers may prefer hiring individuals with academic degrees rather than TVL certificates or diplomas.

SOLUTIONS:

  • Seek additional training or education to improve your skills and knowledge. This could include enrolling in further education programs or taking professional development courses. You may also consider expanding your skill set by pursuing certifications or licenses in related fields.
  • Explore ways to increase your income, such as taking on freelance or part-time work, or starting your own business. Additionally, consider negotiating for a raise or seeking opportunities for advancement within your current company.

BENEFITS:

  •  Higher earnings: TVL graduates are often paid higher than those without technical skills. For example, an automotive technician can earn a higher salary than a regular car mechanic.
  • Flexibility: TVL graduates can work in various fields, from manufacturing to service industries, making them versatile in their skills and more adaptable to different work environments
  • Entrepreneurship: TVL graduates can also start their own businesses with the skills they have learned. For example, a culinary graduate can open a restaurant or a bakery, while a cosmetology graduate can open a salon or a spa
