Van Halen has been around for going on 40 years. Within that time, the band has experienced a handful of lineup changes and changes to musical direction. Van Halen has always been about the visual performance as much as the musical performance itself. A charismatic front man, with active musicians beside and behind to compliment. The band has released two concert video releases. The first in 1987 and the second in 1993, both with former singer Sammy Hagar. The band has had no formal releases with original singer David Lee Roth. In 2007 Van Halen reunited with Roth and has been on two world tours since, with the upcoming being the third. 

What better time to release a video than now? The video would compliment the recently released live album Tokyo Dome Live in Concert. A video release from Roth fronted Van Halen would cement the bands legacy with Roth and provide a better more professional image to be remembered by than cell phone videos from reunion and old scratchy footage from the original run.
