I have great news to share - Valve issued a statement on Wednesday that said they will allow all content on their site. We were all confused and frustrated by this decision and the campaign pushed on generating thousands of additional shares and signatures. Then, late Thursday, Valve issued a press statement that said they pulled active shooter because the developer was a troll but that they wouldn't put a game like that back on the site no matter who the publisher was. They also removed a number of games that had content of similarly bad taste, including Aids Simulator, Suicide Simulator, ISIS Simulator, and more. This means, despite their new policy on all types of content being allowed on their site, they are taking some responsibility to remove games that cross the line. It also means, we've done what we set out to do! Our voices were heard loud and clear by Steam and the rest of the world - we've drawn a line in the sand for what we will tolerate as a society and I'm so thankful Valve saw that and did their part to support this effort by removing the game for good. I am grateful to all of you who spoke up about this - especially the news organizations who helped spread the message. Together, we can make a difference! If you see something - say something! Sending love out to all of you! -Stephanie
