April 13th, 2020. Rick May, the voice actor of Soldier from Team Fortress 2 has passed away due to Covid-19 ( Corona Virus ). The community is heartbroken.

This petition is to change the Soldier's Requiem taunt, the one where Soldier pulls up a gravestone, to say " RIP Soldier - 1940 - 2020 " in honour of Rick May.

Rick May's duty as the Soldier's voice actor has made such an impact on so many lives. Soldier, or John Doe, has been one of the most important characters of the 2000's so far.

Even better, we could make the Soldier's Requiem directly say " RIP Rick May ". However, I feel this would be immersion breaking for newer / unaware players. This tragedy is important and will stay in our hearts forever, however in a game of silly nature this might be too serious.

Valve, this is all in your hands. We need your help. With all respect due, this has to be done to immortalize one of the most important man in many young lives. As somebody who grew up on this game, Rick May's voice and character has made me grow to the man I am today.
