Valid Number is a public website where people can perform reverse phone lookup to get information associated with the phone number.  It has come to our attention that for most of the phone numbers, this website actually retrieves the actual name of the phone number owner.  This may cause a privacy issue to many individuals.  With an increase in several scamming schemes, including threatening people to prosecute for bogus tax evasion, such private information available openly to everyone may fall into the wrong hands who may use them for several purposes, including scamming.

Because of this reason, we would like to request Valid Number to create a feature to let phone numbers owners to opt-out.
