A group of doctors, health care professionals, and community activists have formed an organization called Protect Our Province. POP advocates for changes to the Provincial Health Authority's Covid 19 policies.

The organization states that "Public Health leaders have failed to inform BC residents and business owners of the main mode of COVID transmission: the air we share. By not keeping up with the science, Public Health has jeopardized the wellbeing of all BC residents. Without a clear understanding of how SARS-CoV-2 spreads, individuals are unable to keep themselves and their families safe."

"Both Dr. Tam (Canada's chief public health officer) and WHO have finally acknowledged what scientists have been shouting about since Spring 2020—SARS-CoV-2 spreads through the air we breathe and share."

Dr. Harding, our local public health officer, who approved Whistler Blackcomb's safety plan says that we don't see any significant transmission through aerosols. Has he changed his position since the Omicron variant has taken over? Does he still deny that transmission happens from the air we share?

We all know that the Omicron variant is extremely transmissible and yet Whistler Blackcomb's unsafe policies remain in place; no vaccination required to access the mountain and you are safe to cram into a gondola wearing a stretchy neck tube which may or may not be pulled up over your nose. Most doctors and scientists now state, that only a well fitted N95 mask will protect you from the Omicron variant.

When will the Provincial Health Authority finally require that Vail Resorts put public safety first?
