The team at One Virginia 2021 created this video to highlight the absurdity of the process behind having elected officials draw their own lines to their advantage – a manipulative practice known as “gerrymandering.”

We believe the citizens of Virginia should be able to choose their elected representatives instead of allowing politicians to rig elections by hand-picking their voters.

We believe that an independent commission, not the General Assembly, should be in charge of redrawing the district lines.

Public officials like Del. Jerry Mandering wish you wouldn’t worry about the fact that he can pick and choose his own voters, but you can let your legislators know that you support a non-partisan effort for fairer, more competitive elections.
