Below is the email response I finally got from V/Line. AS you can see it is a poor response. I have requested a meeting and am now waiting for the next step. Please continue with your support, and share the petition. As always the more numbers with have the stronger our position.
Dear Dr Sheen
I acknowledge receipt of your feedback regarding timetable changes to and from Bacchus Marsh.
Firstly I apologise for the delay in my response.
I have forwarded your feedback onto the Planning and Network Development department for investigation and consideration.
With the Regional Rail Link now complete, it was necessary to rewrite the timetable focusing on getting people to and from Melbourne for work.
The new Ballarat timetable provides an additional train to Melbourne in the morning peak from Ballarat and from Melbourne to Ballarat in the afternoon peak. There are also four additional peak trains for Bacchus Marsh Station on weekdays, three in the AM peak to Melbourne and one in the PM peak to Bacchus Marsh. On average, a 30 minute frequency will run every hour during the day on weekdays between Bacchus Marsh and Southern Cross stopping at Melton, Deer Park and Ardeer. This is a significant boost to daytime services on weekdays from Bacchus Marsh Station.
Given the complex nature of timetabling the Ballarat line, it was necessary to shift the morning and afternoon service earlier.
PTV and V/Line receive regular feedback about train timetables and have incorporated this feedback into the final timetable. PTV is holding community and stakeholder workshops over the upcoming months. You can find out more about the plan, complete the survey and join discussion forums for your region online at Get Involved
PTV will review the implementation of the new train timetable to address any issues if deemed necessary in future network changes. We want to ensure the network meets the community’s needs, but it’s also not always possible to please everyone or meet their specific transport needs.
As part of the implementation of the new timetables some people's travel plans will need to change. PTV understands this can be difficult and encourages customers to use the PTV Journey Planner, Mobile App or to call PTV for assistance on 1800 800 007 for their best journey plan.
We’ll take on board your feedback as part of developing future timetables.
Thank you for taking the time to contact PTV with your feedback.
