Children at play signage for Uxbridge Coral Creek neighbourhood

The Issue

The Coral Creek Homes community in Uxbridge houses many families. As residents of this community, we would like to ask for support with a speeding issue that has become more and more apparent since the fourth phase of homes was completed last year and many more cars are filling the streets. In particular, many people speed up and down Village Green Lane--the longest stretch of road in the subdivision with no stop sign or other means that would help drivers remember to slow down. It stretches from the new phase of homes past two feeder streets, past our home, and then finally ends at Coral Creek. Nowhere on this stretch is there a stop sign or other indicator to slow down. On March 24, a driver came down the road lost control and drove right over our front tree (pictured). Many kids are often playing at this very spot. There are also many speeders on Nelkydd, which also has some open stretches. We want to remind drivers to slow down and keep our children safe. Just one stop sign or one children playing sign along this long stretch would do something to slow folks down. We want to request that from the town, and feel the agreement of other Coral Creek and Uxbridge residents would help. Thanks for your support.
