*This petition was written to address the student population, not UTRGV leadership. As the number of signatures increases, we urge readers to look past the author’s attempt to lighten up the somber mood and focus their attention on the basis for its writing. Follow our updates.*

Aside from being scared shitless by the confirmed cases at UTRGV, we are tired of all the crap. These professors are making our life a living hell. We can barely keep up with all the assignments. Our parents, and siblings, and kids, are screaming in the background during lectures. The neighbors are having coronavirus parties listening to corridos y echando gritos 24/7 porque alcabo ahí viene el cheque del Trump.

We can’t concentrate. We can’t think straight. Me gaste todo el financial aid en papel de baño. Ahora tengo que hacer fila pa’ regresarlo al gualmar.

The wifi keeps going out. We don’t have a quiet space to study. We’re overworked and worried about bills. Our kids have as much homework as us (y ya nos tienen hasta la madre). We don’t feel safe going to the library. We don’t want our GPA to drop. We didn’t choose online classes.  We don’t want to retake them. We don’t want to lose more time or money.

I propose we end the chaos. End the semester and pass everyone.

Or is it that they want us to fail so we’ll retake classes and they can make more money off us? 

STOP HURTING OUR GRADES AND OUR SANITY. PASS US ALL OR GIVE US BACK OUR MONEY!
