Change water the regulations in Utah to sustain water for people not lawns

Braden Kislin started this petition to Utah State Senate and

The state of Utah is in a water crisis like no other. Due to the lack of snow last winter our state’s reservoirs are almost 30 feet below normal water level. Our vast and extensive damn and irrigation systems will be useless if there is another winter without snow. What makes all of this worse is that people still water their lawns, fill their pools, and waste water unnecessarily. The current regulations will destroy our water reserves and put our state in a further drought, where forest fires will be more common.

I propose a solution to not only Utah’s water crisis, but also on for the rest of the southwest. I would like to see a collaboration with Mexico and utilize the Baja Gulf as a source of water for the entire southwest and northern Mexico. I would like to see mass desalination plants across the coastline with a large pipe system transporting the water all throughout states with high risk water loss.

In order for this to happen we, as a state as a nation and as a people, to put all of our efforts into solving this crisis. If not it will only get worse!
