Hello my name is Alisha jaramillo I am the oldest  living sister of Marco Cardenas jaramillo and I am starting this petition today to seek justice for my brother who was brutally murdered in June of 2015 my brother was riding the local transit bus going home  on the day of June 10 2015 he was exactly 1 mile away from home when Marcus James pulled out a gun and brutally gunned him down in front of the whole world to see. It was rush hour time the bus was packed full of people, as they were getting off the bus he shot my brother puncturing his lung and fatally killing him. Marcus shot 5 more times as my brother ran away from the bus to get away from the gunfire, bullets hit the back of the bus stop shattering glass everywhere. After emptying the bullets from his gun, Marcus ran away!! bystanders ran to my brothers aide, And others ran and hid. Not only did he kill Marco but he traumatized and put many others in immediate danger. He did not call police or ambulance he did not wait to speak to officers! He had no care for a human life that day!! Marco was born December 20th 1992 with mental disabilities, in which he dealt with his whole life. Marco was considered by the state to be disabled and considered mentally retarded. People are not recognizing the reality here. Marco was a great kid, and strived  to become a better man everyday. He has 3 brothers, and 3 sisters, nieces and nephews, a dad and a mom, aunts uncles, and cousins, and many many friends, who all are still trying to even except him being gone. The fact that we may have to run into The person who murdered him in public, and not bat an eye is terrifying to us all. Marco did not deserve to lose his life. He was 22 with a mindset of an elementary student. Marcus James is a threat to our community. The original deal was two separate charges. Discharging a firearm was a juvenile charge. The actual 2nd degree manslaughter with a gang enhancement was supposed to be served in adult prison. The D.A and Marcus attorney are now trying to get his Time ran concurrent , and as time served. 1 month before he is out of juvenile system. Which gives us NO TIME to legally fight this. They have blind sided us. In this case that means Marcus will have only done 5 years in a juvenile system where he bbqs, and has fun activities, gets to eat cake and ice cream and rest his feet basically, where everyone has saluted him and applauded him like he was a great guy. This has all been a slap to our faces. Going to juvenile court has been almost a betrayal to us and we cannot stand to be unheard any longer! This petition is to have Marcus James charged and sentenced 15-to life in adult prison. This is the only justice that we’ve been waiting for, the only justice that seems fair on Marcos behalf. 5 years is not enough for a lifetime of years he stole. Get Marcus James sent to adult prison!! Please help us!! And thank you.
