I took a step away because I got overwhelmed by the family separation trauma.

Some of you have seen the Black Exmormon stories on Tiktok. It was difficult to leave the LDS Church because it had become another home for me, but the continuing acts of racism in the church have not helped. This separation from my son originated with the events in which Utah Mormons were at Weber State University when I was a student. I believe they saw nothing wrong with what they did to me because Mormons believe that Black people were cursed in premortal existence. I believe that because of this curse, Utah Mormons, including those in government, make light of non-white family integrity. That's why I am banking on your support to be reunited with my son. We are a black family, but we don't deserve to be torn apart. Thank you for your love and support. I appreciate you!
