It has come to mine and many others’ attention that animal shelters here in Utah are becoming overcrowded and euthanizing rates are increasing. This is a very sad fact of life for these animals. 

If you look into renting an apartment/condo, many of them, roughly 60% or more, will tell you they don’t allow pets. While it’s reasonable to not desire a mess, that’s at the expense and fault of the owner, NOT the animal. 

I’ve seen too many animals in the shelter with bios that say their reason for being given away is because of a landlord or they moved to a place that doesn’t allow animals. 

THIS is why we have so many homeless pets. Renters are dishing out a fake sense of luxury and cleanliness by blocking out animals that give us companionship, animals that could have a home, but aren’t allowed to live there.

Now, we, animal lovers of Utah, are pushing to make renters not allowing animals in apartment housing illegal. It is the cause of so much animal suffering, it must cease now.
